How far can we see? Some people can see their families. And everything ends with death. Some people can see their reputation, and that may remain longer. But can we see the soul? And if we can only see things on the material platform, what is the point? What is the point in having something if it will be taken away in a minute? So actually we are all blind to some degree. Animals only see what they want to eat. Humans see a bit more. But only when one comes to the spiritual platform can one see eternity. And within eternity there are many leagues. Depending on what league you are in determines how much pleasure you experience. What access you will receive.
In scripture it talks about seeing through scripture, not just through your eyes. What does seeing mean? It means perceiving things, understanding things, being aware of things. Being conversant with things. It is almost like speaking a language. How does the world work? How wise are you? How successful are you? What does success mean? Success now mean something different than what it meant 100 years ago. What it means in London is different than what It means in Africa. So we need to develop vision, beyond even what our eyes can see. We need to see eternity, we need to see truth, we need to see virtue. And we need to see it clearly, without impediment. Otherwise we are blind.
When you can see you are safe. You can perceive things correctly. On e time my spirirtual master said to me, pointing to God - “This is reality. Everything else is illusion.” And it is corroborated in Srimad Bhagavatam ‘O Brahmā, whatever appears to be of any value, if it is without relation to Me, has no reality. Know it as My illusory energy, that reflection which appears to be in darkness.’ So we need to perceive God either directly or indirectly at all times. Otherwise we are in illusion. When you are in illusion to perceive things incorrectly. You mistake things.
